U-9 Raider

Cost: 65 Coins
The Raider is a lower end agility class plane that basically has slightly better performance than the C-101.  Agility has been bumped up but is still not as high as the Thresher, Talon or Marauder.  It is a good plane even though I accidentally purchased it.

F-51 Hawken

Cost:
Before you beat the Campaign:
60000 Credits
After you beat the campaign:
20000 Credits

The Widow costs 205 Coins.
It seems appropriate to start with what is probably the most popular plane in the game, the mighty F-51 Hawken.  Modeled after the F-15 Eagle, this weapons class plane is a true brute.  It is not the fastest plane out there but it sure as hell packs a punch.  This plane is arguably the strongest weapons class plane in the fleet.  Fast locking speeds, fast missile reloading, decent agility, high damage inflicting ratings.  The Hawkens specialty is its fast missile reloading.  With a Hawken, you will be able to fire off more missiles in a shorter amount of time than most of your adversaries. One of the only other planes that can fire missiles faster (fully upgraded) is the FA-88 Hurricane (although the Hurricane packs quite a bit less damage).

If you have a fully upgraded Hawken, expect to obliterate lesser planes and lower skilled players fairly easily (much more easily than I can with my agility class Thresher).

TK-44 Nova

Cost: 180 coins

Damage 12%  Middle of the weapons class pack for damage

Damage Resistance  10%  Best in class and first weapons class plane to ever have this boost.  Should be a powerful feature.

Missile Reload  10%  2nd in class, tied with a bunch of other planes.  I love missile reload - it is one of my favorite boosts.

Energy  12%  Tied for best in class with Warlock.  Always good to have more energy, although I rarely run out using weapons class aircraft.

So lets see:  Good damage, Excellent Damage resistance, Excellent Missile Reload and some more energy.  Besides the energy, these are all great boosts.  If you are a weapons class aficionado, then this may be a new favorite.

F-113 Eagle-X

Cost: 10000 Credits
 The Hawken costs 20000 Credits.
The Sentinel costs 205 coins.
The Sentinel has the Best in Fleet Damage.
Stats:
Damage: +15%: Tied with other planes for second Best in Fleet
Lock Range: +15%: Best in Fleet, even better than the mighty sentinel
Missile Reload Speed: +2%:Worst in Fleet, less than all other missile reload planes
Lock Speed: +2%: Worst in Fleet, even less than agility class stats

Overall, a good plane, surely to give the Hawken a run for its money. They are both very close in stats, same with the Sentinel.

D-7 Wartusk

Cost: 2000 credits

This plane is another mid-level weapons class with a unique feature; Cannon damage and Overheat Limit. Both are +10% but this is a very inexpensive way to get a good weapons class plane. I have this plane however, it is not all the way upgraded however is is a formidable opponent.

F-41 Viper

This Plane costs 30 coins.
Stats:
Damage: 5%: Lowest in fleet, worst than wraith.
Lock Range: 4%: Lowest in fleet, worst than saber, helix and many others.

A lower mid-level weapons class plane. Not much to get excited about here. This plane is rumored to be a green eagle killer as well as planes from the sentinel below.  I don't see any evidence to support this, but who knows!

E-14 Tempast

This plane costs 1000 credits.
It has the lowest armor in fleet: 5%

The E-14 Tempest is what you might call a beginners tough guy. They are good for beginners who are seeking to do well in campaign and survival mode. They are a good backup for owners of the Annihilator. I have this plane and it is a good one for survival. Fully upgraded, it makes it to wave 15.

C-101 Annihilator

This Plane costs 1000 credits.
The C-101 Annihilator is another starter plane. If you want a quicker plane capable of outrunning  missiles and dodging bullets, this is the plane for you. Many people who start off with this plane usually end up sticking to the Agility Class planes.

GP-87 Warlock

Last week, I purchased this plane for 180 Coins;
This one compares closely to the hawken and widow. I own both so it is a good addition to my hanger.
Damage:  +14%:  Tied with several planes for 3nd in class

Agility:  +11%:  4th in class behind several planes

Missile Reload:  +10%:  Tied for 2nd in class with many other planes

Energy:  +12%: Tied for best in class with TK-44 Nova

So is this a good plane?  Damage boost is decent,  Agility is very good and Missile reload is very good.  Those are 3 of the most valuable boosts for a weapons class, in my opinion.  The energy boost is pretty useful especially when in versus mode for dodging those missiles.Overall, plane is pretty good plane, but there are several very similar planes out there.

Red Widow

Another plane I am saving up for is this one;

Update;
I just purchased this plane. It is October's plane of the month.

Cost: 205 Coins

Damage:  +14%:  Tied with several planes for 3nd in class

Agility:  +10%:  5th in class behind several planes

Missile Reload:  +10%:  Tied for 2nd in class with many other planes

Critical Strike: +5%:  Best in Class

This beast compares very closely with the Hawken for best of class in the weapons genre.  Originally released on 2/3/12, the new "Red Widow" has equal Missile Reload and Agility to the Hawken and greater damage by 2%!  Throw in +5% critical strike and this sucker looks like its going to be a tough plane to beat.  The only thing that the Hawken has over the Red Widow is the +5% missile lock speed.  Critical strike rating increases the probability of getting 2X damage on a hit.

The debate for Red Widow vs. Hawken revolves around Critical Strike vs.Missile Lock and what is more valuable.  If anyone has any opinion, please comment!

Also, this is the plane flown by Commander Vargas in the Campaign.

Iron Fang

Cost: 180 Coins
I just purchased this plane.

Here are its stats:
Missile Tracking: +8% (First agility plane with a missile tracking rating. Best-In-Fleet rating, and even better than the new weapon class plane, the Tigris and same as the Liberty)

Critical Strike: +5% (BEST-IN-CLASS – Even better than the Maurauder)

Speed: +12% (Right up there with the K-15 Mako and P-79 Spectre!) Behind te FA-119 Reaper.

Evasion: +10% (Best-In-Class, higher than the F-410 Zephyr(+7%), and F-106 Thresher(+5%))
This plane is flown by Copperhead in the campaign.
